INDIA’s RICHEST CITY – MUMBAI

India’s financial capital Mumbai is the wealthiest city in the country. Delhi and Bengaluru got 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

New World Wealth released the world’s wealth data, where wealth is defined as the net assets of a person.

WORLD MARITIME DAY

World Maritime Day is always held during the last week of September.

Theme of The World Maritime Day 2016 is “Shipping: indispensable to the world”.

The United Nations (UN), in conjunction with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), created World Maritime Day as a way to celebrate and honour the positive influence of the international maritime association on the world’s economy.

PROJECT SAKSHAM

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the project SAKSHAM, a new indirect tax network of the Central Board of Exercise and Customs (CBEC).

About the project:

It will also help in implementation of GST, extension of the Indian Customs Single Window Interface for Facilitating Trade and other taxpayer-friendly initiatives under Digital India and ease of doing business.

WORLD RABIES DAY

World Rabies Day celebrated across the world on 28th September every year since 2007.

The theme for World Rabies Day-2016 is “Rabies: Educate, Vaccinate, Eliminate”.

Inorder to raise awareness about the impact of rabies on humans and animals.

ODF VILLAGES IN SIKKIM & HIMACHAL PRADESH

 

Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh have the maximum number of villages that are “OPEN DEFECATION FREE” according to the Swachch Bharat Mission.

Three cities in Karnataka coastal Mangaluru, Udupi, Mysuru are now in ODF status.

In this list Mysure again got 1st rank for clean cities status for the second time.
