Assembly Elections 2017
The Legislative Assembly Elections conducted in five states of India including Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand, Uttarapradesh and Manipur.
Results of Elections:
Punjab:
Indian National Congress Leader, Amarinder Singh won the Elections 2017 and Sworn in as Chief Minister of Punjab.
Before the Election, Shiromani Akali Dal Leader, Prakash Singh Badal was the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Goa:
Bharatiya Janata Party Leader, Manohar Parrikar won the Elections 2017 and Sworn in as Chief Minister of Goa.
Before the Election, Bharatiya Janata Party Leader Laxmikant Parsekar was the Chief Minister of Goa.
Uttarakhand:
Bharatiya Janata Party Leader, TBD (To Be Determined) won the Elections 2017 in Uttarakhand.
Before the Election, Indian National Congress Leader Harish Rawat was the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
Uttara Pradesh:
Bharatiya Janata Party Leader, TBD (To Be Determined) won the Elections 2017 in Uttara Pradesh.
Before the Election, Samajwadi Party Leader Akhilesh Yadav was the Chief Minister of Uttara Pradesh.
Manipur:
Bharatiya Janata Party Leader, Nongthombam Biren Singh won the Elections with Majorities and Sworn in as the Chief Minister of Manipur.
This is the First time, BJP won in North Eastern State of Manipur.
Before the Election, Indian National Congress Leader Okram Ibobi Singh was the Chief Minister of Manipur.

World’s first fluorescent frog
The world’s first fluorescent frog, which glows bright green under UV light, has been found in Argentina.
About this frog:
In daylight it appears to have brown-green skin with red dots. Fluorescent skin pigments absorb light at short wavelengths and re-emit it at longer wavelengths.
The frog is a dull green/brown with red spots in normal light but the researchers were surprised to find that it gleamed with fluorescent light under their UV torches.
They can project up to 18% as much visible light as a full moon. This depended on the level of ambient light in its environment.

Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) every year has been organising Krishi Vigyan Mela(Agriculture Science Fair) to display and promote the latest advancement in agricultural research and technology development among farmers.
It continues to be a highly important annual event for receiving feedback from the farming community, which helps in deciding the Institute’s future research strategy.
This year KrishiUnnatiMela 2017 is being organised jointly by ICAR and Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

Financial Minister and Defence Ministry – Arun Jaitley
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley appointed as the additional charge of Defense Ministry.
His appointment comes after Manohar Parrikar resigned to take charge as Goa chief minister.
Earlier he was incharge of the ministry from May 26, 2014 to November 9, 2014.
